Another thing to note is how perfect the texture and consistency of the apples in the pie were. I've never given that I was in my apple pies too well, normally just choose Granny because I thought they were the best. Well this time I had a ton of beautiful Golden Delicious apples, I do not like to eat, but read were perfect apple pie. Woah are they ever ?? With Granny I feel I must be pre-cook the apples or really bake the pie so long that they are soft, but the texture of these apples was just perfect and I do not have to do any of these things . They are not mushy or mealy, fully retained their shape / texture, but were super soft and tender. Golden Delicious is my new favorite Apple Pie. Get them while it's Apple Season folks- do not know what I'll do the rest of the year. :)
