Pear Caramel Crisp

Pear Caramel Crisp -

Pear Caramel Crisp

I'm not sure of AGG are one thing in other places as New York. Do you know what a CSA is? Well, if not, let me explain: It is essentially this very cool thing where you sign up for a weekly share of fruits and vegetables from a local farm. Every week I mosey to a place a few blocks away and pick the one that is local / seasonal. It was really fun, but also hard to ensure that I never lose anything. (I'm sorry to say that concord grapes never really had revised these dang seeds threw me for a loop!)

Well, as you can imagine, it is the season for pears, and while we were like to eat fresh, crisp pear caramel what may be the most fabulous use of pears I have ever tasted. Juicy pears are tossed with lemon juice and cinnamon, then my favorite salted caramel sauce is folded. A crumb topping to sprinkle on top, and the most wonderful sparkling juiciness goes in the oven. Add some ice cream vanilla on top and you can imagine how it is, can not you?

Pear Caramel Crisp

I must say that simple fruit desserts like this are a part of my absolute favorite. Fruit threw himself into a baking dish with a little sugar and spices, a quick trim gets added and that way you have a dessert impressive in manufacturing. Now do not get me wrong, I love riding on the pie crust, crimping the edges, and get all fancy, but sometimes you just want simple, you know? On this particularly lazy day, I had to use these pears quickly, and it was just the way to do it.

This recipe calls for a lot of sauce caramel, which for me is one of my cooking easier task, but if you do not want to brave you could use store bought. (But I really think you should try to do caramel- home, it is so satisfying and the results are to die for!)

I have a feeling there will be many more apples and pears in my CSA near future. Feel free to send your favorite recipes in the comments!
